Armed Oxycontin robber still at large; Surveillance released

GLENDALE - Police are investigating an armed robbery at a supermarket pharmacy.

It happened at the pharmacy inside the Fry's supermarket located at 43 rd Avenue and Northern in Glendale.

The suspect allegedly jumped over the counter before displaying a handgun to the pharmacist and demanding Oxycontin. The pharmacist complied and the man was able to flee the scene of the crime.

Witnesses say the suspect fled into a nearby neighborhood. Police used a K9 officer to try and track the suspect's scent.

A Glendale police spokesperson tells 3TV, "Guys that are stealing Oxycontin are getting more desperate and trying to get what they want."

The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s without facial hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a brown zipper jacket and a black baseball cap that read "SECURITY."
