SURPRISE -- A martial arts coach was killed and four members of his team were injured in a single-vehicle rollover on Loop 303 at Greenway Road Thursday morning.

Coach was killed

According to the Department of Public Safety, the group was from Sierra Vista and was heading to a martial arts tournament in Las Vegas.

The SUV was heading northbound on Loop 303 when witnesses say it veered off the road. Investigators say the driver may have overcorrected and the vehicle rolled an unknown number of times.

The 71-year-old driver died at the scene.

A 14-year-old boy, two 18-year-old men and one 21-year-old man were transported to Valley hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. One of them was ejected from the vehicle and suffered a broken leg.

Investigators say that it does not appear that drugs, alcohol or speed were factors.

The victims' names have not been released.

Loop 303 was closed in both directions for DPS to investigate.
