One dead, two wounded in Phoenix triple shooting

PHOENIX - Police responded to a triple shooting at an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Dunlap.

One person died and two others wounded when shots rang out Friday evening.

Phoenix police said two men were standing on a street corner near the apartment when they were struck by stray bullets fired by a suspect at a man inside the apartment unit.

According to police the victim died after being transported to John C. Lincoln Hospital.

The two wounded men suffered non-life threatening injuries after one was hit in the jaw and the other in the shoulder.

The suspect fled the scene and is still outstanding.

Police are still investigating what prompted the gunfire.

The victim's name has not been released.
