Armed suspect robs Wendy's after placing order at drive-thru

MESA -- An armed suspect robbed a Mesa Wendy's after placing an order at the drive-thru window shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.

According to police, the driver of a small, red, four-door vehicle with a missing driver's side mirror placed an order at the Wendy's drive-thru near Country Club Drive and Brown Road.

Sgt. Ed Wessing said when the employee returned to the window, the driver pointed a small gun at her face and demanded cash from the register.

She gave the suspect a small amount of cash and the vehicle sped away heading north on Country Club Drive.

The victim told police that there were three people inside the vehicle.

The driver is described as a white male, 25 years old, skinny and wearing a black hoodie with the hood up.
