GILBERT - The intersection of Germann Rd and Power Rd had to be shut down Saturday evening due to an incident. MCDOT Regional Emergency Action Coordination Team (REACT) assisted Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in managing traffic in the affected area.

Ten people were involved in a four-vehicle accident that shut down the major intersection in Gilbert for several hours. Gilbert fire officials responded to the accident, near Germann and Power roads.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was conducting an investigation because the accident happened near the Gilbert and Queen Creek border, Ehrman said. Of the 10 patients, two were airlifted to a local hospital, while another two were transported to Gilbert Mercy Medical Center. All were adults and none suffered life-threatening injuries.
