PHOENIX -- Police say an Ahwatukee teen was approached by two men who asked her if she wanted a ride Thursday morning.

The 13-year-old girl was walking to a bus stop when she was contacted by two Hispanic men in a white van, according to Phoenix police Detective Cindy Scott.

The men asked her if she wanted a ride. She continually said no and then called her mother from her cell phone. Her mother called the police and told her daughter to walk back home.

Officers reported the incident to the Kyrene School District and a letter was sent out, warning children of the suspicious activity.

The two suspects are described as 30 to 40 years old.

Officers were not able to locate the van or the suspects.
