Suspect in late-night restaurant robbery on the loose

PHOENIX - Police are on the lookout for the suspect in a late-night armed robbery.

Suspect pointed a gun at employees

It happened Sunday night at a pizzeria on Glendale Avenue near 35th Avenue.

According to police, a man walked into the restaurant and pointed a gun at several employees before taking off with $100 and a cell phone.

A security guard followed the man and a K-9 was able to follow the scent for a short time. The trail went cold, though, and the suspect got away.

Police said the suspect is black man in his 20s, and was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
