Foreclosed Mesa home goes up in flames

MESA -- Fire investigators are trying to determine what sparked an early morning fire at a vacant home in Mesa.

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. near Guadalupe and Loop 101.

According to Deputy Chief Mike Dunn of the Mesa Fire Department, several neighbors called 911 to report the fire.

By the time crews arrived on the scene, flames had extended into the attic.

Firefighters from Tempe, Mesa and Chandler were called in to fight the fire.

The home was a foreclosure and had been vacant for some time.

Firefighters were able to keep the flames fro spreading to nearby homes.

No injuries were reported.
