PHOENIX -- Paramedics had to rescue a hiker off Camelback Mountain just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The man, who is reportedly a doctor, told rescuers he fractured his right leg while hiking on the Cholla Trail on the east end of the mountain.

A helicopter had to be flown in to carry the man off the mountain.

There is no word on his condition at this time.
