'DRC' becoming a star in Cardinals' secondaryPosted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- When the Arizona Cardinals picked an obscure Tennessee State cornerback in the first round last spring, many fans said, "Dominique Who?"
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has become a budding star faster than you can spell his name.
Rodgers-Cromartie picked off a pass, broke up three throws and had 10 tackles in the Cardinals' 30-24 playoff victory over Atlanta last weekend.
That came after he earned NFL defensive rookie of the month honors for December.
His immediate future likely includes spending some time with Carolina receiver Steve Smith in the divisional playoffs on Saturday night in Charlotte.
Smith burned the Cardinals for two scores -- an 18-yarder and a 65-yarder -- in the Panthers' 27-23 victory Oct. 26 in Charlotte.
