MESA -- Mesa police arrested a man accused of impersonating an officer.

Police say the victims came home to find their house had been broken into and several electronic items missing.

The victims called police and while checking the home, they were confronted by the suspect who was still in the house with gloves on. The suspect told the victims to hang up the phone. He showed them a wallet badge and identified himself as "Detective Miller" and said he was on an investigation.

The victims didn't believe his story and the suspect ran from the home.

Officers caught up with the suspect, Shawn Miller, a while later and took him in for questioning.

Police say Miller admitted to breaking into the home and stealing a laptop computer. He faces several charges.
