Robbery at Bank of America; suspect fled in a Sunshine cabPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Phoenix police are looking for a suspect in a robbery that occurred Saturday at the Bank of America at 32nd Street and Camelback Road.
Phoenix police are reporting that just before 12:30 p.m., a white male in his 40s walked into the Bank of America and gave a demand note to a teller.
The teller put $20,000 in a bank bag and the man fled the scene in a Sunshine Cab, police say.
As he was driving away the suspect threw a bunch of $20 bills out of the window near 28th Street and Camelback Road, according to police reports.
Police said that the suspect was then dropped off at an apartment complex near 28th Street and Highland Avenue.
Officers did not find the suspect.
Police say the suspect is in his mid-40s, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with tar on it, blue jeans and a green/camouflage "boonie" hat.
