UPDATE: Guilty plea from man who killed clerk with 2 kids present

PHOENIX - The man who walked into a store with two young kids and shot and killed a convenience store clerk has pleaded guilty.

Jermaine Canada, 28, entered a guilty plea on Tuesday to first-degree murder in connection to the August 2008 death of 62-year-old Inder Jassal.

Canada was seen on surveillance tape walking into a store near 26th Avenue and Glendale, talking to the clerk for a brief moment and then shooting him. Canada was later arrested by Phoenix police.

Investigators reveal they do not think robbery was the motive for the fatal shooting because Canada did not take anything from the store.

Canada also faces charges of misconduct involving weapons. He will be sentenced on August 25 to life in prison.
