Jury convicts Phoenix man in D.C. strip club firePosted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -- A District of Columbia jury has convicted a Phoenix man on 10 counts of assault with intent to kill and arson in a 2007 fire at a bar in northwest Washington.
Prosecutors said 38-year-old truck driver Vasile Graure became angry after he was kicked out of the Good Guys strip club for photographing a dancer last November. He returned and used gasoline and a lighter to set the fire.
A club manager received second- and third-degree burns to 80 percent of his body.
Graure's attorneys said their client did not set the fire.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 13.
