7 Hurt, 2 seriously, injured in 3-car wreck in central PhoenixPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Two people are in the hospital after a serious three-car wreck in central Phoenix.
Crews were called out to 16th Street and Interstate 17 shortly after 9:00 Sunday night.
There were seven patients in the three cars.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, it looks like one car turned the wrong way onto the road and slammed into the other two.
A number of units were called out to the scene.
"We ordered more for the transport because we did have a number of patients," said Capt. Shelly Jamison of the Phoenix Fire Department.
Two victims -- a 50-year-old woman and a 60-year-old woman -- were rushed to the hospital. Both were listed in serious condition.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, five other people were also taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not as serious, Jamison said.
