Red dye explodes on bank robber as he flees scene

Suspect was covered in red dye

PHOENIX - A suspect left the scene of a bank robbery dyed in red.

That happened after he tried to rob a Compass bank branch in Phoenix Sunday afternoon near 32snd Street and Bell.

The man reportedly presented a note demanding money but he received a bag of cash with a red dye pack that exploded as he ran.

The robber is described as being in his 50s or 60s. Anyone with information is asked to call Phoenix police.
