Police: Man who drowned in Gilbert pool may have been drunkPosted: Updated:
GILBERT - A 41-year-old man drowned in Gilbert at about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to Gilbert police, James Nivison drowned in a pool at a residence located in the 3500 block of S. Sawmill. He was reportedly swimming with another individual who lives at the residence.
According to reports, the other adult did not notice the victim go under water, where he might have been for as long as 20 mintues.
Police say they have reason to believe alcohol may have played a role in the man's drowning. The death is still being investigated.
