RIMROCK - The following is a release from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office:

During the week of August 31, 2008, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office received several reports of vandalism in the Rimrock and Lake Montezuma areas of Yavapai County.

The initial report came from an employee at the Family Dollar store located in the 3100 block of East Beaver Creek Road. The suspects had spray painted several swastika symbols on a wall and columns of the building. Additional markings included a painted circle with an X through the middle and the words, "Say no," on some of the adjacent structures. After canvassing the neighborhood around the Family Dollar store, the deputy found similar spray painted swastikas and circled X symbols on a speed limit sign, residential mailboxes, a residential driveway and a Ford pick-up parked on North Quail Hollow Road. On September 5th, an additional report came in from the 3600 block of Rimrock Drive regarding a swastika symbol painted on a garage door.

Based on the reports, deputies determined most of the vandalism occurred during the evening of August 30th and into the early morning hours of August 31st. Deputies did locate several witnesses who described the suspect vehicle as an older green pick-up truck with rust above the passenger side wheel wells, brown or rusted wheel rims and white doors. Witnesses saw two suspects in the vehicle. The passenger was described as 19 or 20-year-old male, skinny in build, acne face, and wearing a camouflaged style hat with a bent brim. The driver, also a male, was not described in the initial report.

At this time, there is no evidence that a particular person or business has been targeted. YCSO would very much like to locate this vehicle and the suspects and is urging anyone with information to contact Yavapai Silent Witness, 1800-932-3232. Remember, you never have to give your name and you become eligible for a reward if the information leads to an arrest. YCSO will also take information on the main business line at 928-771-3260.
