Inmate who walked away from work detail caughtPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Department of Corrections inmate who walked away from a work crew in Maricopa Tuesday afternoon is back in custody.
Kevin Cowley, 40, is a minimum security inmate who is serving a 2 1/2-year sentence for forgery. He's assigned to the state prison in Florence.
Cowley was caught several hours later in El Mirage. Police took him into custody without incident.
