PEORIA -- Police in Peoria are searching for the suspect in a double stabbing that sent a mother and daughter to the hospital overnight.
According to Mike Tellef, spokesman for the Peoria Police Department, it happened just before midnight at 82nd Avenue and Yucca Street, which is near the Cactus Road and 83rd Avenue area.
Both victims were stabbed multiple times. The 48-year-old daughter was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her 69-year-old mother was also wounded, but her injuries reportedly were not life-threatening.
Tellef said the suspect in the case is Gettus L. Mintz, who is described as 55-year-old black man. He's 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 215 pounds. He has a shaved head and might have a mustache.
Mintz, who, according to Tellef is the boyfriend of the 48-year-old victim, might be driving a 1998 red Ford Escort with the Arizona license plate ACC-9170.
According to Tellef, witnesses reported seeing a small red car speeding away from the scene.
