AVONDALE -- An Avondale police officer became a target while responding to a burglary call early Friday morning.
It happened at about 3 a.m. in the area of 120th Avenue and Granada Road.
When police arrived on the scene, they discovered evidence of an apparent robbery.
While officers were talking to the homeowner, they received a call about a man in the backyard of a neighbor's home.
Police arrested that man, believing he might have been involved in the initial burglary.
While police were questioning the suspect, a shot was apparently fired.
A neighbor who reported two men in her backyard, one of whome was the man police caught, said she h urt two shots.
Officers shut down local streets and searched the area but found nothing.
Police said an officer on the scene might have been grazed by a ricocheting bullet. That officer did not require any medical treatment.
