Arizona legislators return for special sessionPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona legislators report back to work Monday for most lawmakers' second day at the Capitol for a special session on the state's budget troubles.
Lawmakers return for special session - State lawmakers are back in another special session to finalize some bills set aside during the budget battle.
But legislators still must decide how to balance the budget in the wake of Gov. Jan Brewer's vetoes of major provisions. Legislative leaders have begun negotiations but it's not clear how long that process will take.
Monday is also the deadline for Brewer to act on bills passed during the regular session that ended July 1.
The dozens of measures still awaiting action include bills on abortion restrictions, gun rights and fireworks.
