Man shot and killed in Scottsdale parking lotPosted: Updated:
SCOTTSDALE - Police received a call at about 11:30 p.m. from a witness who reported seeing a shooting.
The witness reported that two males were in a parked car in a common parking area. The witness was there to service a restaurant, which was closed at the time. He told police he heard shots and saw one of the males exit the car. The witness ran away from the shooting and called 911.
Officers responded to the area and found a male victim in the car who has been identified as 29-year-old Rami Merza, a Gilbert resident. He was deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
The suspect, 32-year-old Ramsen Dadesho, was located by officers near the shooting scene. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase. Police have not yet determined a motive for the crime and do not yet know the relationship between the victim and suspect.
The shooting took place in a parking lot shared by retail businesses on the northwest corner of Raintree and the 101 freeway.
