YUMA - Border agents busted almost 50 pounds of marijuana hidden inside a tire.
Border Patrol agents working out of Yuma seized 46 pounds of pot on Friday evening at the Colorado River. The agents found the load after seeing several individuals place a large object into the back of a station wagon through their Mobile Surveillance System.
A vehicle stop was done on the driver of the station wagon and saw a tire in the back of the station wagon. A K9 officer was called and alerted to the tire where agents subsequently discovered five bundles of marijuana stashed inside. The drugs weighed almost 47 pounds.
Three U.S. Citizens who were in the car were taken into custody. The drugs and station wagon were seized by agents.
