Man with Samurai sword arrested after alleged confrontationPosted: Updated:
The following news release was sent by the Prescott Police Dept.:
PRESCOTT - Prescott Resident Aaron Schwarder, 38 years, was leaving the Quick Mart convenience store at 447 S. Montezuma when he used a 3-foot Samurai sword he was carrying to puncture a tire of a truck parked in the parking lot.
When Schwarder was confronted by the trucks owner, Schwarder held the sword in a threatening manner towards the truck's owner and another individual. He then walked away from the area and was located at 409 S. Montezuma by Prescott Police.
Schwarder turned over the sword to police but refused to be detained by physically fighting with an officer. After a brief struggle, Schwarder was taken into custody and was booked into the Yavapai County Jail.
At this time, Schwarder is being held on 3 counts of Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Damage.
