Barbosa, Stoudemire return to preseason practices for Phoenix Suns

PHOENIX (AP) -- Leandro Barbosa and Amare Stoudemire are back practicing with the Phoenix Suns.

Barbosa returned to Phoenix yesterday morning without anyone knowing until he walked into the locker room at US Airways Center.

He has been in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with his ailing mother since the start of training camp two weeks ago but her condition from a lung infection has improved.

Suns officials say there's a chance Barbosa will play in this week's two preseason games in Atlanta and Syracuse.

Stoudemire also joined his first full practice yesterday after suffering an eye injury in Tucson.

He has a torn iris in the right eye but does not need surgery and is wearing protective goggles on the court.
