Gov.: We have swine flu problem under control
Washington Elementary School District spokeswoman Carol Donaldson says the Maricopa County Health Department requested the closure on Wednesday when the diagnosis was confirmed by federal health officials.
Moon Mountain Elementary School was closed just after noon and its 800 students won't be returning until May 7.
Gov. Jan Brewer says an 8-year-old boy attending Moon Mountain has already recovered from the flu.
The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed the diagnosis.
