Police take suspected serial bank robbers into custodyPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - A bank robbery in the far west Valley sent one school into lockdown.
According to Phoenix Police PIO Tommy Thompson, a bank at 115th Ave and Buckeye was robbed by four armed gunman.
After fleeing from the bank those four suspects were taken into custody in a field south of 105th Ave and Buckeye. Officers also took two women into custody.
Police believe the suspects were responsible for as many as 15 robberies throughout the Valley, from Phoenix to Glendale to Scottsdale.
The Task Force consoting of the Phoenix Police Department, Glendale Police Department, Scottsdale Police Department and the FBI will serve serveral search warrants in locations throughout the Valley.
Quentin Elementary went on lockdown after the bank robbery as a precaution.
