Red-light runner in bad wreck might have been impairedPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Police believe the man who allegedly ran a red light and caused a bad wreck early Wednesday morning might have been drinking.
It happened at about 3 a.m. at 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road.
According to investigators, the driver of an SUV ran a red light and slammed into a minivan that was northbound on 43rd Avenue.
That SUV driver took off on foot but was later caught.
Police said the man might have been impaired. He reportedly made some admissions indicating he had been drinking and taken drugs.
The driver of the other vehicle is in critical condition.
