PEORIA -- A horse trainer has been arrested for sexual abuse after a teen reported that he fondled her at a riding lesson.
Man accused of molesting girls he taught to ride horses - A man was arrested for allegedly molesting some girls who took horse riding lessons from him and investigators believe there could be more victims.
On Tuesday, investigators with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office special victims unit arrested Ralph Lawrence Carr, 63, on six counts of sexual abuse.
An investigation began after a 13-year-old girl told her parents that Carr had fondled her breasts both over and under her clothes.
During the investigation, a separate allegation from 2006 was discovered. In that case a 12-year-old victim reported that Carr fondled her breasts under her clothes.
According to the sheriff's office, both victims described similar incidents and both reported being fondled by Carr either before or after a horse riding lesson at his Peoria home.
Carr is a horse trainer and co-owns the Moonreach Ranch near 87th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road in Peoria.
Carr admitted that he has personally given horse riding lessons to 30 or 40 children and adults over the last five years.
Investigators are concerned that there may be additional victims who have not reported being abused by Carr. Investigators urge the parents of any children who took horse riding lessons from Carr to speak to their children to determine if they have been a victim of any inappropriate contact.
Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office at 602-876-3858.
