Pets rescued from blaze that destroys Valley homePosted: Updated:
GLENDALE - Firefighters from several agencies had their hands full with a house fire in Glendale.
It broke out just before 9 p.m. on Saturday near 43rd Avenue and Union Hills. The family had just left just minutes before the fire stared but their three dogs were inside. They were all rescued.
Witnesses say it was all thanks to a man who happened to be passing by when he spotted the fire. Pamela Marx, a neighbor, tells 3TV, "He was just like the Good Samaritan who found the fire, who noticed it, God sent him, and said you know 'Call 911' and so we did, and the guys came."
Firefighters say about half the home was damaged by the flames. There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
