TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Arizona State baseball team will be hosting an NCAA super regional for the third consecutive year.
Zack MacPhee's two-run single in the sixth inning broke a 3-3 tie as the Sun Devils beat Oral Roberts 8-3 last night to win the Tempe regional.
ASU (47-12) will host either Clemson or Oklahoma State in a best-of-3 super regional this weekend.
The winner of that regional in Clemson will be determined tonight.
Seth Blair (7-2) held Oral Roberts (33-15) to four hits over six innings, settling down after surrendering three runs in the first on Johnny Roberts' RBI single and Colby Price's two-run double.
Mitchell Lambson pitched three perfect innings to earn his fourth save of the season.
Oral Roberts starter Drew Bowen limited ASU to one hit through five innings before three walks and a passed ball tied the score at 3.
Two outs later, MacPhee bounced a high grounder into left field to put the Sun Devils ahead to stay and Jared McDonald added a two-run, inside-the-park home run in the eighth inning.
