Woman who confessed on radio won't face murder chargesPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - An El Mirage woman who called a nationally syndicated radio show in 2006 and claimed she killed her boyfriend and made it look like he committed suicide won't face murder charges.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office says in a statement that there's no credible or circumstantial evidence that Megan Vice's boyfriend died at the hands of another. They said evidence is consistent with a suicide and that's how the medical examiner classified the 2001 death of Tortsen Rockwood.
Phoenix police named the 30-year-old as a suspect last month and presented investigation reports to prosecutors.
Vice was charged with a misdemeanor count of making a false report for calling police the day after she called the Tom Leykis show and reporting that her cell phone had been stolen.
