A man called authorities near Flagstaff and said he mistakenly believed the child he offered a ride to was the son of an individual he was doing plumbing work for. The information provided by the caller has been confirmed by investigators and deputies.

FLAGSTAFF - Deputies are looking a man who allegedly made contact with a boy and a girl at a bus stop near Flagstaff.

Deputies from the Coconino County Sheriff's Department say a man approached the kids just after 8 a.m. on Monday as they waited for the bus on Pioneer Valley Road.

The two children told deputies the suspect rode up to them and talked to them through the window without getting out of the car. He allegedly "encouraged" the kids to get in his car more than once.

Once the children declined a ride, the suspect reportedly said he would go buy plumbing supplies before returning to pick them up.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s with red medium to long-length hair. He is possibly driving a white Mitsubishi four-door. Police say the truck has a black detail trim on the body over the wheels that goes onto the bumpers and a tool box.
