Ariz. company workers hurt in Indonesia explosionPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A company spokesman says two employees of Phoenix-based Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold, Inc. were injured in suicide bombings at American luxury hotels in Indonesia's capital on Friday.
Freeport's Bill Collier says the two men were in the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Jakarta. They suffered non-life threatening injuries and were flown to Singapore for treatment.
Collier declined to identify the men or their nationalities.
A second bomber set off explosives in the adjacent J.W. Marriott hotel. In all, eight people were killed and more than 50 wounded, including eight Americans.
Collier says the injured employees work at Freeport's regional headquarters in Jakarta. Freeport operates the world's largest gold mine in the country's restive eastern Papua province.
