The last day is Sunday, July 26, a full week before originally planned.
People who use the pools are not happy.
"Some people out there don't have pools in their backyards," one swimmer told 3TV. "They can come out here to have fun and get wet and feel good."
Phoenix has already started closing the pools on Fridays. Officials said that move has saved the city $350,000. They said shutting down the pools a week early will save another $150,000.
