Car hits communications center for Prescott police agenciesPosted: Updated:
The following is a press release from the Prescott Police Department:
PRESCOTT -- On December 15, 2008 at approximately 9:15 a.m., a woman driving a minivan struck the front doors to the Prescott Regional Communications Center, causing significant damage.
The 79-year-old woman was pulling into a parking space in front of the communications center and she accidentally hit the accelerator.
Two metal doors and the frame around the doors were damaged. There was also some damage inside the entry way to the center.
The PRCC services nine police and fire agencies in the Prescott area. Emergency services were not interrupted during this incident and the center is functioning normally at this time. No one was injured and a repair crew is currently on scene.
The driver was checked by medical personnel and released.
There will be security in place at the center until the damage is repaired.
