Armed suspect robs Mesa Hi-Health

MESA -- The Mesa Police Department is looking for a suspect who robbed a Hi-Health store at Baseline and Ellsworth roads Friday afternoon.

According to Detective Michael Melendez, the suspect requested product information from a sales associate. As the clerk approached the register to complete the transaction, Melendez said the suspect displayed a gun and demanded money.

The employee handed over the money and the suspect left on foot in a westbound direction. He was seen entering the passenger side of a tan or gold '90s four-door GEO/Cavalier-type vehicle.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 170 pounds with dark hair that was slicked back. He was wearing khaki pants and a white long-sleeved collared shirt.
