PHOENIX - One person is dead and two others in the hospital after two accidents at the same location in Phoenix.
It happened overnight when a Geo and Infiniti collided near 59th Avenue and Columbus.
Two minutes later another car slammed into the Geo, which was unoccupied by then, and took off.
The 34-year-old male driver of the Infiniti was traveling southbound in the inside lane of 59th Avenue. As it approached the intersection the car collided with the Geo which was on Columbus turning onto 59th Avenue.
The two occupants of the Geo were ejected. The driver, Patricia Robledo, 50, died from injuries she sustained in the accident.
The passenger was a 17-year-old Hispanic male who is critical, but police say he is expected to survive.
The driver of the Infiniti is also expected to survive from his injuries.
Phoenix police are looking for a red vehicle that was involved in the second collision with the Geo. No one was injured in that wreck.
Charges are pending the investigation. Alcohol might be a factor in the accident.
