PHOENIX - The second Friday night of high school football was marked by two serious injuries on the field.

A Gilbert High School football player has to be airlifted from a game in Gilbert after suffering an undisclosed injury.

In a different game a Desert Edge High School football player was hurt and sent by ambulance to the hospital.

Gilbert was facing Desert Visita on their home field.

Desert Edge was facing Notre Dame High School at Scottsdale Community College.
