Boldin to sit out against New OrleansPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona Cardinals wide receivers Anquan Boldin and rookie Early Doucet will not suit up for Thursdays pre-season game against the New Orleans Saints.
Boldin has been forced to sit out of camp due to an injured right hamstring.
Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt also confirmed Doucet will miss the game because of a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, the team made a pair of player moves Monday. Arizona released veteran running back Marcel Shipp and signed free agent guard-center Jasper Harvey.
Shipp signed with the Cardinals in 2001 as an undrafted rookie free agent. He rushed for 834 yards and six touchdowns in 2002, then 830 yards with no touchdowns the next season. He missed the 2004 season due to injury and his production has dropped off steadily since
The team says Harvey was brought in to shore up the Cardinals injury-depleted offensive line.
