Shaq credits A-Rod for steroids admission

WESTLAKE, Ohio (AP) -- With a night off before an upcoming game in Cleveland, Shaquille O'Neal has addressed two sticky subjects: peanut butter and Alex Rodriguez.

Phoenix's All-Star center helped collect more than 3,000 jars of peanut butter for food boxes to be distributed by Feed The Children to needy families around the country.

Then he talked about A-Rod's admission that he used banned drugs from 2001 to 2003 while playing for the Texas Rangers.

O'Neal has been friends with the New York Yankees third baseman for years and credits Rodriguez with coming clean.

He says he hopes fans will forgive him.

O'Neal also says he and his teammates have not discussed baseball's widespread steroid abuse.
