Two injured in truck-motorcycle wreck on U.S. 60

TEMPE -- Two people are in the hospital after a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle on westbound U.S. 60 Monday morning.

It happened at about 8:15. The Department of Public Safety shut down the freeway at McClintock Drive to conduct its investigation. Traffic was being diverted on to Loop 101 as an alternate.

Details of the wreck were not immediately available, but two people were transported to the hospital, said DPS spokesman Harold Sanders. The nature of their injuries was not known, but Sanders said the motorcyclist was listed in serious condition.

The freeway was re-opened to traffic by 11 a.m.
