Man gets 17 years for robbery of Manzanita Speedway GM

GLENDALE -- A man was sentenced to 17 years in prison for the home invasion and robbery of the general manager of Manzanita Speedway.

On Feb. 11, 2007, Alfonso Granillo, 26, and several accomplices broke into the victim's Glendale home and demanded cash.

The break-in happened following a big race night at Manzanita Speedway.

According to prosecutors, Granillo hit the victim in the face while his family was being held at gunpoint.

Glendale police officers arrested Granillo in September 2008.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on April 27 and was sentenced on Tuesday.
