About Linda Davis

Hello everyone! I'm having the time of my life as a part of the Your Life A to Z family. Creating my " " segments and being on the show is so much fun and is the perfect opportunity for me to combine all the things I've done professionally into one package. But at the heart of it all, I think of myself as simply "a teacher who happens to do TV."< /p>

I love teaching. I adore thinking of a topic and then figuring out a fun, unique way to teach the information.

I'm originally from the Chicago area, and a graduate of Arizona State University with a BA in Education and Communication. After career forays into journalism as internal publications editor at The Arizona Republic, and in media, working in sports production with American Cable, I followed my heart into the classroom. I became a 4th and 5th grade public school teacher.

After teaching for several years, I was honored with the opportunity to become one of the first certified instructional specialists in Arizona. I left the classroom and began teaching other teachers the art of instruction and how to refine their skills. I taught seminars, recruited teachers nationwide and also worked directly with educators in their classrooms.

I soon found myself joining forces with my husband, a corporate media producer in the arena of adult education, working with a wide range of corporations and businesses in developing training materials for their employees. This really gave me the opportunity to research and teach a wide variety of subjects and emphasized the importance of making learning interesting for students of all ages. It also allowed me to keep teaching while working at home and caring for our newly adopted son. My how time flies, that was more than 15 years ago!

In 2007, on a whim, I applied for an open slot on Your Life A to Z as a part of the popular "Mom Squad." I'd always dreamed of doing something on TV especially when it involved talking about women's topics - I do enjoy chatting about all kinds of things with my girlfriends.

After a few months on the air, I began thinking that television would be an ideal way to reach more people with what I loved so much - teaching with a lighthearted, entertaining touch. I thought it would be really fun to learn something new each week and then teach the viewers simple things that make daily life a little easier or a little more fun. Plus, since I'm not an expert on the topics I thought it would be a fun twist for the viewers to learn things from someone who had just learned it, too. If I can do it - so can you!

As we grow up, the idea of "education" was pretty much something you did when you were young and when you graduated out of school; you started the "rest" of your life.

These days we know better. We know how "lifetime learning" can enrich our lives and that's what Live and Learn with Linda is all about. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks so much for watching!
