PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a three-year contract with catcher Chris Snyder.

The deal runs through 2011 with a club option for the 2012 season. Terms were not disclosed.

The 27-year-old Snyder hit .237 last season, setting career highs with 115 games played, 16 home runs and 64 RBI. The homers were a record for a Diamondbacks catcher.

Behind the plate, Snyder did not commit an error in 847 total chances. He has one error in 1,629 chances in the last two seasons for a .999 fielding percentage.

Diamondbacks general manager Josh Byrnes says Snyder has emerged as a solid all-around catcher and has become a team leader.
