Boyfriend arrested for assaulting and kidnapping his girlfriend

SCOTTSDALE - The following is a press release from the Scottsdale Police Department:

Early Sunday morning Scottsdale Police arrest a man for assault and kidnapping.

On Sunday around 3:00 a.m. after leaving a party in the area of Raintree and the Loop 101 Tommy Smith, 28, allegedly struck his girlfriend, 22, in the face after getting into an argument.

The victim suffered a broken nose. The suspect then drove the victim to the area of Bartlett Lake, took her cell phone and dropped her off.

The suspect eventually came back and drove the victim to the hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect was later found at his Phoenix residence where he was taken into custody. He was booked on charges of Threatening/Intimidating, Kidnapping, and Aggravated Assault then transferred to County Jail.
