MESA - At least five people were stung by bees, including a firefighter, at a local strip mall.

A Mesa Fire spokesperson tells 3TV they received a report of several people being stung at about 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The property manager of the strip mall had reportedly called a pest control company on Tuesday after receiving reports of swarms of bees in the area. The pest control company had overlooked an area of the roof that housed another swarm of bees.

Fire crews used foam to get rid of them. 3TV has learned a woman was taken to the hospital after experiencing breathing problems after being stung.
