Girls doing better in math, sciencePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Female students across the globe are closing the gender gap when it comes to math and science.
That's according to proficiency test results, which also showed that girls and boys in fourth and eighth grade scored above average last year on international math tests.
That's a major improvement from 1995 and places our students ahead of those in several other countries, including Australia, Italy and Iran.
However, researchers say students in the U.S. are still far behind those in Hong Kong, Japan, Russia and England.
