Phoenix man indicted in double killingPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced Monday that a Phoenix man has been indicted in connection with the deaths of his mother and nephew.
Prosecutors say 35-year-old Erick Lampert fled after 14-year-old Logan Lampert and 61-year-old Sheila Lampert were killed.
Their bodies were found June 20 in a north Phoenix residence.
Both victims were apparently beaten to death with a shovel.
Erick Lampert was arrested June 22 by Tempe police after lengthy search across the Phoenix area.
A Maricopa County Grand Jury indicted Lampert on two counts of first degree murder and one count of child abuse.
Phoenix police say Erick Lampert was living with his mother at the time of her death.
